Casa Pura Vida Yucatan

Such a beautiful house and hosts! We loved our stay at Casa Pura Vida, every detail has been thought out and the home is so comfortable, well equipped and peaceful - we didn't want to leave! Hot showers with fantastic water pressure, everything you can think of is in the kitchen, great WiFi, relaxing deck area and super comfy furniture, washer/dryer, beach equipment, pool, really comfortable beds, it was a pure luxury staying here! And everything is brand new. Nicer than most 5* hotels!!! Mike and Rene were so accommodating, generous and friendly too. There is also a wonderful lady, Susi that delivers food right to your door if you don't want to cook, along with a few local restaurants/stores in the village. And also a beautiful beach area a few minutes away - highly recommend staying here!!! Thanks so much for having us!

Such a quaint, lovely place. Casa Pura Vida is a quiet oasis in the small town of Chabihau. The hosts are incredibly accommodating & friendly and the property itself is perfect. We are picky travelers when it comes to our accommodations and this place had everything we expected and more including filtered water from the fridge. Such a lovely touch! We could order food in or take a short drive to any of the surrounding restaurants. We absolutely would stay again and can’t wait for our next return trip! Thank you for a perfect stay Mike & Rene!

Casa Pura Vida! Wow, what an amazing slice of paradise slipped into one of the more quaint and friendly towns in Yucatan!From the moment we met Rene and Michael, we had no doubt that our stay would be fantastic and they did not disappoint. No detail or request was too small or too obscure - from pink himalayan salt to brand new beach chairs. They have grown some great connections in this small neighborhood and we always felt welcome and looked after. We can't say enough about them and their care for their rental home and guests.The home is brand new. A two level, modern and well appointed vacation rental that leaves you wanting for nothing. The rooms are bright, spacious, modern and exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen is very large and has everything you need, whether you cook or not. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and with lots of storage for your clothing and suitcases. The bathrooms are spotless, have beautiful showers and good water pressure. The common area is sweet! We relaxed in those recliners every single evening, a few of us falling asleep in them as well. The sunsets from the upstairs balcony is stunning. There is also a brand new table top outdoor grill that they picked up for our stay! The pool is filtered, a rarity in most vacation rentals in the area and was kept very clean. It is also deep enough to enjoy a real dip. The vegetation around the pool was cared for and tended often and it created a serene setting.A very special treat was having the small beach across the road painstakingly cleaned and raked every single day by Michael and his friends.Michael and Rene connected us with their community friends so that we could partake in beautifully baked cakes, home made meals and even breakfast delivery. Then - they connected us with the same family that we were able to do a traditional cochinita pibil! We met the farm owner and he delivered us a freshly slaughtered, organic pig. The family butchered the beautiful animal and prepared it in the traditional Yucatan method by cooking it in the ground overnight and joining us for a feast the next morning. I counted no less than 3 generations of family members from the community that we were able to share this experience with.A shout out to a couple we met that lives in Chabihau, names withheld for privacy, who connected us with Rene and Michael a few months ago. Without them, we would have never found this paradise.We have been in the travel and tourism industry for many years and we are Superhosts on Airbnb for some of our own properties, so our review comes from knowing both sides of the host/hosted relationship. Please believe me when I say that Rene and Michael have nailed it. They know exactly what they are doing and if you are interested in recharging your batteries in a small and quaint town, you need to book this home. We will be back!

We absolutely loved staying here! My family stayed here in February and me and my sister LOVED the host! We also loved all their dogs and LOVED their pet chihuahua. I can’t remember his name but he was so cute! Our wifi was down when we were there, but they were so helpful and accommodating. Loved the town, the views, and the people. I am planning on coming back with my S.O!
