Rock Star Sailor - Private Charters & Sailing School

This was the best experience of our 9 days in Puerto Vallarta. Rick was extremely knowledgeable about sailing, amazing with drinks and dinner stuff, had local stories and knew his way around, but most of all he was just a normal guy living his best life. He made us feel at home like we were sailing with a long lost buddy. We went out twice, one sunset cruise, then another mid day-sunset cruise as we were invited back and it was the highlight both times. If your in PV and you don’t take this trip your missing out on a lot of laughs, one hell of a fantastic vibe and some all around great memories which will last a lifetime.

Rick and Javi took me, my parents, my grandparents and their friends out for a sunset sail and it was fantastic! Very nice, knowledgeable and professional guys. Amazing food and drink, and great service- even comfortable and suitable for several octogenarians. We loved the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We’ll likely be back!

My wife and I had a great day sailing with Rick Taylor and Javier in the waters of Puerto Vallarta. I have been a (not professional) sailor for nearly 50 years. This has included charters, both as Captain as well as with professional Captains in other countries. I have participated in multiple sailing courses and owned 2 sloops during that time span. With that as context, we have never had a more enjoyable sail than we did with Rick and Javi. Rick clearly has an amazing mastery of sailing that he has developed over the course of a remarkable career, I learned a number of things in the short time we sailed together. I look forward to future voyages as an opportunity to get out in a beautiful area with great winds and to learn more from this great teacher! I surprised my husband with a private sailing trip for the two of us on our honeymoon, and it couldn't have been a better experience! We loved sailing, swimming, and watching the sunset. The food and drinks provided were fantastic (especially the sangria!), but the exceptional service was what made the trip so perfect. I highly recommend sailing with Rock Star Sailor if you have the chance!

Valentine's Day CruiseRick and his first mate Javi make sure everyone is happy and has a wonderful experience! The food is great and delicious drinks. Rick is a wealth of knowledge that he loves to share. He made sure we got to see a beautiful sunset and was able to find LOTS of whales and dolphins up close!! As a repeat customer, I can highly recommend Rock Star Sailor.

What an incredible experience! Took a group of eight out for a private charter and we were all blown away by the entire 7 hour adventure. Departure time was catered to our group needs. Some shots of tequila down the hatch, and we were off! We got lucky with a breezy sunny day, and we enjoyed the best margaritas and sangria as we sailed across the bay. We made our way to a secret beach" where we all jumped ship and spent an hour exploring and wading and just loving life. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better

Rock Star Sailor is a first class service and sailing experience! Captain Rick and first mate Javi are incredible! They worked with us to craft a sailing trip including helping with the boat helm, lines, sails, and anchoring, so much fun! Followed by whale watching, dolphin watching and great lunch, dinner and drinks for a six hour cruise. Highly recommended, the best in Puerto Vallarta!

From the start Rick was very prompt to answer questions and set up our cruise. He is very personable and his sidekick Javi was fabulous! Everything we asked for and didn't was provided. The food was delicious and the drinks were free flowing! Don't wait book now!

Fantastic 5 star experience all the way. Would definitely book again and 100% recommend. Nick was highly knowledgeable, and he and Javi make a great team. Super accommodating! Food and drink better than some restaurants I’ve been too.
