IGUANA MAYA TRAVEL

We visited Ex Balam and Valladolid with Iguana Maya with the excellent Areli as our tour guide. We had an excellent tour of the ruins. We learned a lot of the culture and history of the Mayans and were given ample freedom to explore on our own the various structures. The dinner provided was excellent. In Valladolid we got an excellent tour of the convent and and the town. Again we got a great insight into the culture and lives of people in the Yucatan of Mexico. We finished off with a trip to tour some cenotes. They were fantastic. My daughter took advantage of the opportunity to swim in the cenotes and was able to scratch that off her bucket list. The dinner provided there was outstanding. I recommend without hesitation Iguana Maya.

The Merida Shopping Tour with Iguana Maya was the highlight of my cruise to the Yucatan Peninsula! Our excursion (wife and I) was the only one booked for that day, so we were very fortunate to have a private tour with Luis as our guide for the next few hours. Luis was great! He provided informative insight on the beautiful Merida tourist spots he took us to visit and guided us to the local shopping areas for my wife to find the Mexican dresses and local products she had on her shopping list. We didn't bring Pesos ( Big mistake since some vendors didn't accept U.S. Dollars) so Luis looked up the peso for dollar conversion rate and haggled on our behalf with vendors on accepting our dollars and providing the change in pesos. One vendor shorted my wife's change and Luis promptly ensured that my wife received her change in full. My wife and I had a great experience in Merida! Thank you Luis for taking care of us and providing us great memories of Merida!

Took a scooter tour of Progresso with Stephen during a Caribbean cruise. It wasn’t offered through the cruise line but you can reserve directly through Iguana Maya or Vacations To Go. Stephen avoided crowds when we asked him to, no beach parties, please! He took us to a beautiful wildlife preserve, mangrove forests, a small fishing village and empty beaches. The scooters are a blast — I'm 60 and would rather not take a walking tour. It was a beautiful, memorable day!

We booked the Cenotes of Cuzama tour through Vacations to Go and were paired with George as our guide. He was knowledgeable, kind, patient, and we had a remarkable tour. Finding the Iguana Maya team was easy, they were steps away from the bus stop. I highly recommend. We received priority access to the Cenotes and had a more private experience than others who booked through the cruise line. They also had to bike, whereas we got to ride on a horse-drawn cart. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience.

Great tour when we went to Chichen Itza. We booked instead of going through the cruise line. We had a personal tour guide that drove us to and back in time to check our ship. Eduardo was knowledgeable, very helpful, and friendly. Will highly recommend to others.

VERY unorganized!Missed out on a lot of times doing the tours waiting on their incompetence of how to get out crew on a bus. Had to sit on a hot garage for an hour when the air conditioner bus was only a block away sitting empty and running. Then the tours and the beach was short and lame. The buffet and the open bars was a joke. I had 13 drinks and didn't even taste the alcohol. It was non-existent. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Save your money and use another tour company!!

Luis was great! Adapted and changed our excursion due to Cenotes being closed due to much rain. He did wonderful and helped protect us from being ripped off by the company chosen lunch place Silcer club de playa). They tried to over charge us. Highly recommend Luis!

We just got off our royal caribbean cruise and the royal excursions where booked. We found this group through a facebook royal site. edwardo was great and we booked the cenote. Unfortunately because there was not enough rain the water was to low to get to the cenote but he quickly made a decision to book a boat tour to another mangrove beach ,which was amazing! we got to swim and look for shell and take in the amazing q scenery. We then went to the progresso beach and ate some lunch whihc wasn’t the best. The beach was beautiful but the waves were rough! we had time to do someshopping at the docks as well. For the money we got a great tour and extras and edwardo was very informative!

We've used Iguana Maya Travel on several occasions and what a great experience it was each time.On our most recent trip we toured Ek Balam and Valladolid. Our guide Areli was wonderful sharing the history of the area and allowing us time to explore.I look forward to our next trip and tour.
