Kay Tours Mexico

This was our first trip out of the U.S. and Kay Tours made it so amazing! From start to finish we were treated so well from all the crew, including Kay himself. Limbert was our guide and he was top notch in giving us details we needed to know, good conversation, and just making us feel at ease. The guy swims with amazing speed as well. My girlfriend is not the best swimmer, and he helped her keep up while we were swimming with the whale sharks. We will use these guys anytime we go to the area, and recommend them to all of our friends! Thanks again for an amazing trip!

I have been on many tours across the world and none of them compare to the Tour I experienced last week with Kay Tours. My Guide was Johnny Beltran and I did a tour for 2 to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. We also had an excellent lunch at a great restaurant and got to stop by and swim at a Cenote. The sites were amazing and the history so intriguing. But even better than that was the service provided by Johnny. He was early for out pickup and was waiting when we arrived prior to designated pickup time. We had our own vehicle as transport which was a new, very clean car. His driving was impeccable and at no time did I feel nervous or unsafe. He got us to Chichen Itza for opening and we were literally in the first 10 to enter the site. His knowledge was unparalleled and there was no question he could not answer. His explanation of the Mayan history was amazing and it was apparent he has a true passion for his job. He always offered us flexibility to adjust our day to our preference. After Chichen Itza we went to lunch in Valladolid at a lovely restaurant (not a buffet). He showed us the menu ahead of time and ordered the food on the way to the restaurant. The food arrived a couple minutes after we arrived and was absolutely delicious. This saved us more time for our tour, instead of sitting at the restaurant for 30 minutes waiting on food. Afterwards we did a quick tour of Valladolid. He offered a more in depth tour but we opted out of the tour and ice cream in order to spend more time at the cenote and Ek Balam. Ek Balam was such a unique experience. We got to climb a few of the structures and got to see ruins that were still buried in the jungle. (It is much easier to get up the structures than going down). Afterwards we stopped at the cenote. There, Johnny was with us the whole time to keep track of our gear and even took photos for us as we relaxed after a day of travels. The cenote was such a great way to end the day and should not be missed. Booking a private tour is the way to go. I did not understand the importance of this until we were leaving Chichen Itza and saw the line of busses and chaos. Trust me, the private tour is worth the additional cost.I do not post reviews often but felt obliged to do so here. This was such a great experience and I need to show my appreciation to Kay Tours, but more importantly Johnny. He was such a great guide and was offering or doing something prior to me even thinking it was needed. We had a cooler full of cold water, sodas, and a few beers for the ride home. He was thoughtful and let us customize the tour to our preferences. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the Mayan history is contagious and I know find myself now doing more research on the subject. If you find yourself on the Yucatan Peninsula, do your self a favor and book a tour with Kay Tours. When you do, be certain to request Johnny. You will not be disappointed.

We had the BEST time on this tour! Our guide Claudia was very nice and had a ton of knowledge about not only the site but the larger context of Mayan culture and Mexico’s overall history. She knows her stuff! The private SUV we were picked up in was very comfortable, clean and had AC. We were encouraged to spend as much or little time doing each activity, which made the trip very relaxing. Probably one of the benefits of booking with Kay is their timing: it’s an early morning pick up but we arrived at Chichen Itza before the crowds. We also swam in the giant cenote before the loads of tour buses arrived. As we were leaving the cenote, buses were pulling in and a ton of loud, excited tourists were forming a line at the entrance. We had the cenote almost to ourselves. Maybe 10 others were there. It was quiet and relaxing. The buffet at the cenote was actually pretty good and authentic — certainly way better than the overpriced touristy dinner we had had in Cancun in the hotel zone the night before. I had booked with Kay after a ton of research before the pandemic cancelled our trip in 2020. I’m so glad I rebooked with them again as we replanned our trip for 2022. Awesome experience! Carlos was our tour guide and he was amazing. He arrived early at our hotel to pick us up in a clean, modern crossover SUV. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable on Chichen Itza, the Mayan people and culture, and the entire Yucatán region. We toured the entire Chichen Itza site with Carlos explaining the cultural, mathematical, and astronomical significance of the site and ruins. On the way back to Cancun we stopped for a delicious and authentic Mexican lunch and a swim in Cenote Samaal - amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

Una experiencia única el tour del tiburón ballena. Saliendo desde Punta Sam, Cancún, viendo los primeros rayos del sol para adentrarnos en el Mar Caribe y nadar con los tiburones ballena, también me tocó ver a las mantarayas bailando, todo un espectáculo natural y después nos bajamos en Playa Norte en Isla mujeres a comer un delicioso ceviche preparado al momento. Súper recomendados todos los tours privados que ofrecen!!

Caesar was our archeological guide. Everything was perfect. He was social, friendly, and made us feel very comfortable. Caesar provided so much information during the Tulum ruins tour that we would have never know if visiting on our own. We also saw a cenote and Caesar explained everything to us perfectly. I would highly recommend a private tour with Kay tours Mexico and especially with Caesar.

Moe and Orlando were great- on time, professional and fun. The van was clean and comfortable and the flexibility of a private tour was worth it for my family's experience - it was a great day. Even made an extra stop at BK in Valladolid for my picky son haha. Moe was informative about the Maya at Chichen Itza and Samaal cenote and we stayed as long as we wanted to at each stop. We left early from Cancun so we beat the crowds and the heat (kind of...). It was nice to have all the tickets taken care of so we justed walked in no lines or delays. . Would recommend spurging for this experience!

The whale shark excursion was fantastic from start to end. We were picked up and made to feel at home. Everything we needed to do was explained to us. When we arrived we were placed in front of several whale sharks and had a great time. Unfortunately my wife has motion sickness and started feeling sick half way though. Both our guide and the boat captain did everything in their power to help her through the motion sickness and took care of all of her needs. Highly recommend Kay Tours. This was our 2nd tour with Kay and won’t be out last.
