Active Nature

We did a sunset kayaking trip. It was challenging for beginners but we had a break and fresh fruit halfway. We got to swim in the mangroves in an area only accessible to kayakers. Our guide was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

We did a morning Kayak tour at 6am with Gunnar with a groupe of 6 friends and we had a great experience! Bacalar is an amazing place and it was great for Gunnar to share his experience with us and show us around some cool beaches and small lagoons.We even had a bit of breakfast and frutas that he had kindly brought along for the trip.Highly recommend going with Active Nature!Just a bit sad we got plastic canoos (they are great) when he is riding in an amazing homemade wooden kayak ;)

Go birding with Jacqueline! Three hours spent walking on and around the grounds of Villas Ecotucan where she has lived for 16 years is not to be missed for the bird lovers and bird interested visiting Bacalar. She’s so knowledgeable, interesting, welcoming, and funny. Truly a joy.

We enjoyed the sunrise kayak tour with our guide Gunnar very much! It was serene to paddle out onto the lagoon in the early morning and learn a lot about its flora and fauna! The tour took us to the undeveloped side of the lagoon, where we took a swim in the crystal-clear water and had a delicious snack of fresh local fruits. The equipment was professional and we felt safe the entire time, even when the wind picked up and we paddled in rather large waves.

Highlight of my time in Mexico. I did a 6 hour kayak tour with the guide Erick - I was the only person so it was basically a private tour! We explored the quiet areas of the lagoon so didn’t see another soul until we were almost back to base and spent a lot of time just enjoying the silence and the nature. I think it was 4 main stretches of kayaking and 3 stops with swimming etc and inclusive of food for one. Great mixture of scenery, and a perfect tour for any level of kayaker given the still waters of Bacalar.It started at Ecotoucan which is a bit out of town, but taxi cost me 150 peso each way and approx 10 mins.
