Pelican Reef Ventana Beach Resort & Kite School

Wow! Ingrid and Adam and the thoughtful people at Pelican Reef took care of us like family. From the airport pickup to the special Christmas dinner and birthday cake, Ingrid and her friends took care of every detail, like special wetsuit fittings, and surprised us with their generosity.Adam, who runs the kite school there right on the beach, was always available to help us get the gear we needed for each day. He didn't have enough instructors to give lessons to our large group, but for single lessons he had both ATV and Jetski support (with radios) and learners were very happy with his clear directions and calm communication style. He's a Jedi master.We stayed in the 4-bedroom Villa and loved the private views of the beach and warm sunshine on the upper deck. It was just a short walk down to the beachfront bar and a few more steps down to the water. If you haven't been to this part of Baja, ask someone about the low-tide coral spots when you get there, so you don't cut your feet. Bring booties, or make arrangements with Adam, in advance, to protect your feet.The unique locking beach-front garage storage allowed us to dry out our wet gear, so it was warm and ready for the next day.Ingrid took such good care of our family of 8 (college-aged kids) that we all wanted to come back. The highlights our kids called out were fishing (and spear fishing) with Omar and David of El Camaleón Sportfishing, mountain biking, kitesurfing right off the Pelican Reef Beach, and snorkeling from Ingrid's kayaks. They even spotted a rooster fish chasing sardines right out front. We'll be back.

If you are looking for a great location and relaxing quiet atmosphere you really couldn't ask for more. The staff and many owners of this facility all make you feel welcome like an old friend. The beach makes for easy launching. Ingrid the manager is always around to help with anything...like setting up covid PCR test at a great price Adam at the school is fantastic. I've had teachers over many years and really appreciate his safety focus and ability to jump in at different levels and communicate in a style that works fo your learning . (Different for me and my son who each received lessons). We now feel confident launching and returning on our own. Very grateful to have had this kind and skilled instructor.

My son and I went down to Pelican Reef for spring break. We loved it. We rented a casita that was perfect. 2 min walk to the beach. Ingrid is great and easy to work with.The kite school was amazing. Adam, Lisa and Felix are world class. It’s a must for a beginner.We cannot wait to go back!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Pelican Reef! It is a beautiful, safe, and welcoming beachfront resort with casitas, casas, and villas. You have private and direct access to the beach, and the kite school is directly on the property which is super convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and experience with the kite school, highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!

Great time at Pelican Reef. Ingrid was great to work with and accommodated changes and adaptions. The accommodations were comfy and had everything we needed. The breakfast spot is one of the best any where. The gear storage location was steps from the water. Staff were all really helpful and friends. Everything was great!

Unreal views from Casa Cardon. There were days when I didn't want to leave the place. Ingrid was great. The margaritas at the bar were second only to mine :) The instructors at the kiting school were excellent and very patient. The ATV support helped by moving the starting location when necessary. We did a couple of downwinders as well, which was a really nice experience. Tons of open space to play in, not crowded like other places I've been to. I would definitely come back.

Lovely to rent a real home, just steps from the beach for sup, snorkeling, and kiting. Bonus is the restaurant (not open all hours, FYI), with delicious food & drinks, and great staff all around Pelican Reef. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect place to vacation and go kite boarding. The location is great and you have beach access. The owners are awesome! We will be back!

Adam is an amazing instructor. He's very knowledgable which, combined with a calm and nurturing demeanor, allows you to progress rapidly.Within 4 hours of one-on-one instruction I went from having zero wing foil experience to being able to not only confidently fly the wing, but also briefly foil.I highly recommend Adam and Pelican Reef Kite School. I also love the resort, but unfortunately they were fully booked this time so my family and I stayed elsewhere.We'll be back!

Ingrid, Adam and crew run a first class operation. Location is perfect and everything you need for an outstanding wind sport vacation is there at this awesome resort.
