We had the best Capitain in the world. Anything was well organized, the individual preferences about lunch, day planing, shnorkling, maneuvers…time to feel free and time to learn. We passed the ASA tests easily and had best time. Now we are sailors. thank you.

My 16 year-old son and I just returned home from a week long trip with Go Baja Sailing. Captain Donna was exceptional! We passed our ASA 101, 103 and 104 tests with relative ease based on Captain Donna's teachings. We learned the foundations of coastal cruising and bareboat chartering and feel confident in putting those lessons to the test. We plan on taking more courses with Go Baja Sailing and will request Captain Donna as our Skipper when we do.

My son and I took the ASA 101 a 114 classes. It was a terrific experience. John is a phenomenal instructor and person. The other students were awesome and we made a great crew (got lucky?) Would recommend to anyone looking to take ASA courses or have a charter out of La Paz.

I had a great time. I did the 5 day liveaboard on the momohull. Spent 6 nights on the boat (1 at the marina). We were 4 students + 1 instructor (the instructor slept in the main area as there are only 4 beds). The provisionning was good. The sailing wasn't bad. We all got to experience the different roles.I got my ASA certification in the mail 3 weeks later.Everything went as planned.

If you want to have an amazing sailing class experience ask for Iker. He was awesome and had the patience of a saint when it came to teaching people how to sail. He knew how to meet each individual at their level of experience and bring them higher. We did four courses, 101, 103, 104 and 114. There is a lot of reading before you even step foot on board the sailboat. Study, study, study because once you board you are doing your practicals and there’s not a whole lot of time to read the book’s. Although there was a ton of information to absorb it wasn’t overwhelming and we had fun moments to catch our breath and enjoy the “vacation”. A side note, winter weather is cooler on the water than you think, bring cold weather gear like jackets and pants and maybe a beanie if you run on the cold side during the winter months. The cold cuts through you quickly. Food is supplied based on your needs. Make sure to speak up about what you want. The age and condition of the mono haul and the catamaran show and not everything works so be aware that you are not stepping onto a pristine boat.

My wife and I and another couple had been planning this trip (ASA 101-114) for what seemed like years with the pandemic delaying our plans. Expectations were high and WCM did not disappoint. Despite some hiccups as the date approached (confirmation emails with the wrong departure date and location), Guinevere moved mountains to make sure we got the experience we expected. This included positioning a newly acquired Bali 4.5 from Loreto to La Paz so it would be available for us.Captain John and Chef Macrina were beyond what we could have hoped for. They are an absolutely adorable couple whose passion for life and for each other is infectious and was the icing on the cake of an incredible experience. The food was fresh and fantastic and Macrina's candid observations of our progress were as welcome as John's.As someone who does technical instruction for a living, I really appreciated John's teaching style. It was organic but still structured. He could tell what we already understood well and spent more time emphasizing what could keep us out of trouble or perhaps save our lives. At times it was like drinking from a firehose, but there was still lots of down time for recreating in this unspoiled part of the world (snorkelling with sea lions, exploring mangroves with the dinghy). We left the course feeing like we had made two new friends and with a good foundation to continue what we hope is a lifetime of learning under sail.We really feel like we got so much more than what was promised. If you are considering doing your ASA certifications, do not hesitate to book with West Coast Multihulls in La Paz. There are not enough superlatives to describe our time with John and Macrina.

Ahoy sailors! I have taken my classes from Go Baja Sailing's best instructor, who is now my husband, captain John. I just want to leave a note here to balance a comment that we are working on removing, that is from a person who has not taken any classes with Go Baja Sailing, and left a one star review to be vindictive. There is another company that does the charters and this is not the same as the company that does the sailing classes. Apples and Oranges. The review is inappropriate, as it is not for this business.Thank You for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoy your sailing adventures!

I'm getting ready to purchase a catamaran, and I've been going to Baja for many years, so perfect, what better place to get my ASA certification than on the beautiful Sea of Cortez. You never really truly know what you are going to get in Baja, but in this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I would give the entire team at Go Baja Sailing an A+. Mike the owner was hands on and attentive. Our instructor, Nik, who is most important to me, was simply amazing. He made everyone's week at sea an unforgettable learning experience. By the end of the week we were all a team, and passed the course with flying colors. Soon after, I received my certifications in a timely manor. For anyone reading this who want or need ASA certifications, I highly recommend Go Baja Sailing.
